Cooperation with China has changed considerably in recent years. New joint research projects or study exchanges are being conducted with caution. And German universities tend to be restrained regarding closer cooperation with China. Not least due to the political and economic situation.

Nevertheless, China and its higher education system are often far ahead of Germany in terms of their agility and adaptation to the future issues of society. China is currently a leader in a number of research fields.

We would like to explore the following questions in our presentations and discussions:

What do Chinese universities actually want? How can cooperation and exchange succeed? What partnerships does TU Ilmenau have and how can both sides benefit from each other? How do Chinese students and professors perceive their life in Germany? What can be done to strengthen cooperation and develop a broad understanding of each other through the transfer of skills?
