Advantages of the double Master's degree program

TU Ilmenau

Course of study

The double degree program is integrated into the existing Master's degree programs at PUCP and TU Ilmenau.

As a double degree student, you will complete the first two semesters of the undergraduate Master's program at your home university alongside your fellow Peruvian students and improve your Spanish language skills to level B2 at the same time.

In the third semester, you will transfer to the partner university and spend two semesters there. The choice of subjects at the partner institution must be agreed with the home university. You will complete your Master's thesis at the partner university, with the same scope, over two semesters. This expands your options for course content and makes it much easier to carry out experimental components as part of your thesis. The minimum length of stay at the partner university is one semester. Your Master's thesis and final Master's examination, oral part, will be assessed by a binational examination board. All credit points earned will be transferred to the grading system of the partner universities and mutually recognized. The two certificates refer to each other with the degrees awarded and are only valid in conjunction with each other.

Admission requirements

Admission to the double degree program requires you to have successfully completed your Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics. At the time of your application, you will also need at least A2 level Spanish and B2 level at the start of your semester abroad.

Application procedure

Are you interested? Then apply to the relevant examination board with a letter of motivation. Selection and admission to the program is carried out by a committee consisting of representatives from both universities. If there are several applicants, the grade point average, foreign language skills and level of preparation will be decisive.
