thoska+ is now thoska

thoska, the Thuringian university and student service card, is a multifunctional chip card, from WS 2021 without cryptoprocessor, but still with a MIFARE DESFire chip.

It is provided to collegiates in the context of enrolment in the pre-degree studies and to students in the context of enrolment in the degree studies in presence at the university.

Students residing in Germany receive the card by postal delivery.

International students receive the card after arrival in Ilmenau during the office hours of the Students Office on the service platform ASC.

Collegiates and students can use their card immediately upon receipt with the following features.

Optical functions

The card can be used as a ticket and as an optical visual ID to authenticate the cardholder.

The imprint of the validity is semester-related and is controlled by the re-registration. After re-registration, cardholders can update the validity imprint of their card at the validation terminals on campus.

Electronic functions

The card can be used for electronic cashless payment and as an electronic ID to authenticate the cardholder.
