The Ilm District is providing 3,000 surgical masks for students at the TU Ilmenau. These will be handed out free of charge from Thursday, 4 March, in the cafeteria Mensa Ehrenberg from 10 am to 2 pm. Students will receive three each and identify themselves by presenting their thoska (Thuringian university and student union card).
District Administrator Petra Enders handed over the masks from the district's stock to the Thuringia Student Union yesterday in the presence of members of the Ilmenau Student Council. "For the students of the TU Ilmenau the 'hot phase' of the exams will now begin. In order to provide students with a safe exam period and to meet the needs on campus, the support from the district is a good initiative to facilitate compliance with the Corona protection measures," explains Dr. Ralf Schmidt-Röh, Managing Director of the Studierendenwerk. "For example, there is a mask requirement during attendance exams or when visiting the Mensa," he continues.
