CALL: "TRANSFORMATION" – Early Stage Researchers Contest on Engineering Science Day

Whether it's climate change or digitalization - research lays the foundation for a transformation toward a modern society that thinks and acts sustainably. Are you part of this "TRANSFORMATION"? Then take part in the young talent competition of the Alliance of Thuringian Engineering Sciences and show with a scientific poster and an accompanying elevator pitch (90 seconds) how your research topic is changing our world!

The contest is open to early stage scientists, artists and designers from all subjects at the seven Member universities - FH Erfurt, Duale Hochschule Gera-Eisenach, TU Ilmenau, Ernst-Abbe-Hochschule Jena, Hochschule Nordhausen, Hochschule Schmalkalden and the host Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. This contest is organised by the Bauhaus Research School in cooperation with the »Long Night of Scientific Writing« and the Start-Up Hub »neudeli« at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.

Eligible to participate:

• doctoral candidates and
• postdoctoral researchers or
• employees in an early stage of their academic career and
• Advanced Master's students

1. Poster Contest
The contest posters will be on display in an online gallery and at an exhibition in the WeimarUniversity Library from 23-29 June 2022. The exhibition opening will take place as part of the »LongNight of Academic Writing« on 23 June at the same location. Votes for the best poster can be castonline from 6 p.m. on 23 June until 12 a.m. on 29 June.

2. Elevator Pitch
On 29 June, the posters for the »Tag der Ingenieurwissenschaften« can be presented live in an»Elevator Pitch« The audience will decide on the most convincing and engaging project presentation.For the Elevator Pitch, personal appearance on site in Weimar is a prerequisite.

A maximum of 14 slots are available for the 7 Member universities to participate in the Elevator Pitch.
(at least 2 slots per university). Should we receive more applications, the decision will be made based ondrawing of lots.

Prizes
Prizes worth a total of 1.000.- Euro will be awarded in the categories »Best Poster« and »Best Elevator Pitch« (places 1-3 in each category).

Notes

• Submissions and elevator pitches are possible in German or English.
• Poster printing will be done centrally on site by Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and is free of chargefor the participants.
