"Night of Biosignals" at TU Ilmenau: How does our body communicate - and what can we learn from its signals for our health? On Friday, November 7, the Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Computer Science will open its doors at 5 p.m. until late in the evening to provide all interested parties with exciting insights into the fascinating world of biosignals: from the electrical activity of the brain to signals from the retina and innovative methods of medical technology. Admission is free, registration is not required.

Program: https://www.tu-ilmenau.de/en/news/nacht-der-biosignale

How can small electrical currents support rehabilitation after a stroke and help to treat people with depression or eye diseases? How can brain waves also be measured on the move in everyday life and used to monitor personal health or in sport? Scientists from the Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Informatics will be opening their laboratories on November 7 to show how modern sensor technology, signal processing and AI-based analyses can help to detect diseases earlier and use therapies in a more targeted way - in short, to shape the medicine of tomorrow.

In addition to live demonstrations, short lectures and laboratory tours, the "Night of Biosignals" offers the opportunity to talk to experts and find out about current research trends. The program at TU Ilmenau will be supplemented by live broadcasts to other universities in Germany where similar events are taking place at the same time.

There will be a special offer for children, young people and families at 5:30 p.m.: a live demonstration of a Carrera track that is controlled solely by muscle power. The new toolbox "Fascination Biosignals" will be presented in the Laboratory of Electrophysiology and Ophthalmology: By making complex relationships easy to understand, it awakens the desire to experiment with real biosignals yourself.
