The journal paper "Image Appeal Revisited: Analysis, New Dataset, and Prediction Models" (https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/10173515) summarizing the work conducted in the DFG project SoPhoAppeal (437543412) got accepted. The authors are Dr. Steve Göring and Prof. Alexander Raake from the Audio-Visual Technology group.

The overall idea of the paper is to analyze the visual appeal of images, for this reason, a dedicated image dataset ("AVT-ImageAppeal-Dataset") has been created and is accessible online (https://github.com/Telecommunication-Telemedia-Assessment/sophoappeal).

The dataset consists of subjective annotations considering image appeal covering four different tests (two lab tests and two crowd tests).

Furthermore, the paper includes an extensive evaluation of several prediction models, which are also shared as open source.
