NeuroSensEar project launched

TU Ilmenau

On 18 and 19 October 2023, the kick-off workshop for the "NeuroSensEar" project, which is funded by the Carl Zeiss Foundation for a period of five years, took place in Ilmenau. The aim of the project "Neuromorphic acoustic sensor technology for powerful hearing aids of tomorrow" is to develop biologically inspired hearing aids using micro- and nanotechnological components. The Group of Micro- and Nanoelectronic Systems at TU Ilmenau, headed by Prof. Dr. Martin Ziegler and Dr. Claudia Lenk, is therefore the project coordinator.

The Audiovisual Technology Group is also involved in the project, along with many other partners. It contributes its expertise in the area of evaluating speech intelligibility and audio quality of the new hearing aids to be developed. Prof. Alexander Raake (AVT) presented this during the workshop in a lecture entitled "Modelling and evaluation of human hearing perception and influences on it".
