From status quo and future plans: Project Management Jülich visits Ilmkubator

Project Management Jülich (PTJ) as a guest at the Ilmkubator, here in the Finnhütten of the TU Ilmenau. Important visit to the Ilmkubator: On February 2, Stefan Kausch and Kristoffer Schulz from Project Management Jülich visited from Berlin and personally got an impression of the start-up support at TU Ilmenau, the Ilmkubator and the staff of the Start-up Service.

During a tour, the vision of the start-up service on the premises of the historic Fischerhütte was shared and met with open and enthusiastic ears. Together with Vice President Prof. Stefan Sinzinger, Project Manager Dr. Dörte Gerhardt and the Ilmkubator team, the project progress and status quo were then examined in more detail, because: The project period of the Ilmkubator is already half way through.

In the past two years, a lot has already been set in motion and achieved, now the main focus is on the sustainability of our activities. Accordingly, financing options and the further development of the Ilmkubator beyond the end of the project were also topics of discussion between the project sponsor and the presidium of the TU Ilmenau. At this point, the experience of the project management organization and best practices of other universities can be used: With around 100 EXIST projects from universities throughout Germany, there are diverse and innovative approaches to university start-up support from which the Ilmenau location can also benefit.

On the part of the project executing agency, positive feedback on the project status was reflected. The Ilmkubator thanks for the visit and the valuable exchange.

For the team of the start-up service it goes now full of energy further to the next milestones. For example, the new Ilmkubator Class 2023 (applications open until February 28) and the Makerspace (opening on February 23).

The llmkubator is the Start-up Service of TU Ilmenau and is funded by the BMWK and EXIST.
