STADTRADELN from 1. to 21. May: cycling for the TU Ilmenau!

From May 1 to 21, the STADTRADELN event will once again take place in Ilmenau and the Ilm district. TU Ilmenau is also putting together a team. Whether you are a passionate cyclist or not - all students, employees and professors are cordially invited to take part in the campaign and do something for your own health and a good climate. Whether professionally or privately, in Ilmenau or at home - all bicycle kilometers count.

Registration for STADTRADELN is now open.

As cycling together is an incentive, sub-teams can be formed again. Teams can be formed with fellow students, in the department, project teams, courses, clubs, etc. and compete against each other within the TU Ilmenau. All kilometers cycled in the sub-teams also count in the overall ranking for the main TU Ilmenau team.

Who can take part?

All vehicles that are considered bicycles according to the StVZO are permitted. Journeys made by handbike, balance bike or wheelchair for wheelchair users can also be entered in the CITY CYCLING competition. Passenger transport in a cargo bike, bicycle seat or trailer also counts for both the cyclist and the person cycling with them.

How are the kilometers recorded?

During the three-week campaign phase, every journey can be entered online in the km book or tracked directly via the free CITY CYCLING app. The city of Ilmenau and the Ilm district will award prizes to the most active teams at the end of the campaign.

What other CITY CYCLING activities are taking place?

On May 1, the ADFC invites you to the kick-off cycle tour "Cycling on the Ilm Valley Cycle Path", starting at 9:00 a.m. at Ilmenau railroad station and finishing at Baumbachhaus Kranichfeld.

On Tuesday, May 14, the campus bicycle workshop "Wunderrad" and the Health Management invite you to a city cycling action day with special opening of the bicycle workshop from 3:00 - 7:00 pm at Max-Planck-Ring 14 (between House B and House D). With cool drinks from ILSC e.V. and relaxed music, you can get advice on the best bike settings and technical equipment and receive support with bike repairs.

More information about CITY CYCLING can be found here https://www.stadtradeln.de/ilmenau.

We are looking forward to many cyclists and hope to cycle many kilometers for the TU Ilmenau (for health and for the climate! :-)
