This year's Student Information Day at TU Ilmenau took place on 20 April 2024. Despite the changeable weather in Ilmenau, numerous visitors came to the campus for a varied program. Part of the program this year was organized by the Power Systems Group.
The visitors were able to follow the path from the fault in the grid to the fault explanation themselves during the guided tour of the system operation. First, our colleague Sebastian Glaser gave an impressive demonstration of the effect of an arc fault. This typically occurs as a fault at lower voltage levels. The visitors then eliminated a fault in the grid with our colleague Nadja Belz in the DynaGrid Control Center.
