Brief description

It's time again: The Institute of Physics is hosting the popular Physics Summer from September 9 to 13, 2024! This year's motto is "Nobel Prize worthy!". The week-long college is aimed at physics enthusiasts in the upper secondary school. The focus is on topics that have been awarded numerous Nobel Prizes and are so fundamental to the understanding of nature and so central to everyday applications that they play a significant role in the university education of physicists:

  • electronic components (transistors, tunnel and light-emitting diodes)
  • Optics (interferometers, holography, diffraction, attosecond spectroscopy)
  • Atomic and nuclear physics (X-rays, photoelectric effect, atomic model, electron charge, radioactivity)
  • Thermodynamics (equation of state, thermal radiation)

The topics are discussed in lectures, deepened through practicals and worked on in seminars by groups of students under supervision. The program is rounded off by evening events.
