Payment and validity

With the successful re-registration for the following semester or with initial enrolment in a degree program, you have already paid the Deutschland semester ticket as part of the semester contribution.

The Deutschland semester ticket is valid for one semester (winter semester, beginning on October 1 and ending on March 31, or summer semester, beginning on April 1 and ending on September 30).

Retrieving the ticket

To retrieve the Deutschlandsemesterticket for a single semester, please visit the website of the VMT Verkehrsverbund Mittelthüringen and click on the button Ticketabruf. Select Technische Universität Ilmenau as your institution and log in with your Uni-Account. Follow the further instructions.

After successful retrieval, you will receive an e-mail to your personal TU Ilmenau e-mail address (usually firstname.lastname@tu-ilmenau.de). You will receive your subscription number for the Deutschlandsemesterticket for the corresponding semester.

First-year students will receive their personal TU Ilmenau email address when they activate their Uni-Account.

Ticket on smartphone

The Deutschland semester ticket for use on your smartphone will be made available to you starting on the first day of the semester and updated monthly. With the subscription number and your date of birth, you can add the Deutschland semester ticket in the app of the IOV Omnibusverkehr GmbH Ilmenau. You can already download the app from the IOV Omnibusverkehr GmbH Ilmenau. Please always use the latest version of the app.

Ticket as chip card

Alternatively, you can apply in person for using the Deutschland semester ticket as a chip card at the IOV Omnibusverkehr GmbH Ilmenau Service Center by using the subscription number you received.
