WLAN

  • WLAN stands for Wireless Local Area Network. It allows devices such as smartphones, laptops, and smart TVs to connect wirelessly to a router - and thus to the Internet. This eliminates the hassle of running cables and lets you move freely within the coverage area.
  • TUIL WLAN

    The TUIL wireless LAN provides wireless access to the TUIL data network and the Internet.

    Where technically feasible, the university buildings on campus are equipped with access points that ensure comprehensive coverage.

    The activation of the Uni-Account is a prerequisite to use the TUIL WLAN.

    The TUIL WLAN is available under the name eduroam.

  • Dormitory WLAN

    The dormitories on the TUIL campus are connected to the data network.

    A partnership between the UniRZ, the Thüringer Studierendenwerk, and the Forschungsgemeinschaft elektronische Medien e.V. (FeM) forms the basis for its operation.

    In the area covered by this partnership, there is no explicit coverage by the TUIL Wi-Fi (eduroam). The FeM operates its own Wi-Fi network within the dormitories.

    Activating your Uni-Account and becoming a member of FeM are prerequisites for using the WLAN in the dormitories on campus.
