As part of the ForLab Conference 2025, Ilmenau University of Technology welcomed high-ranking guests from Japan to the Center for Micro and Nanotechnologies (ZMN). The delegation included renowned scientists such as Professor Yukihiro Shimogaki and Dr. Jun Yamaguchi from the University of Tokyo and Professor Satoshi Hamaguchi from Osaka University. In the run-up to the conference, they actively participated in workshops and lectures, particularly in the field of atomic layer processes and plasma processing.
The delegation, consisting of leading scientists and representatives from industry and research, gained exciting insights into current research projects and the center's state-of-the-art infrastructure.
The clean room laboratories and the cryoanalytics laboratories in the Helmholtz building of the ZMN were of particular interest. Valuable contacts were made between German and Japanese researchers in intensive technical discussions in order to promote future collaborations.
