Long term and high temperature behaviour of miniature fixed point thermocouples. - In: From measurement to innovation, (1994), S. 1402-1407

The application of thermocouples with integrated miniature fixed Points can improve reliability and accuracy of industrial temperature measurements. One of ist Basic requirements is a sufficient long-term stability when used in thermal processing with temperatures above the fixed-Point. This will be possible only by a careful choice of materials and design. After giving an Analysis of the Problems, first results of thermocouples with improved temperature and time behavior will be presented.

Precision distance measurement by means of miniaturised interferometers. - In: From measurement to innovation, (1994), S. 1712-1716

The paper is concerned with beam waveguide-couled miniaturized Interferometers used for precision distance measurement. Those Interferometers are manufactured by appling conventional optics technologies. An error analysis shows the possibilities and Limits of laser interferometric measuring methods. There are explained the structure, operating mode and fields of application of three different laser interferometric precision measuring instruments.

Optimal approximation of characteristics of standard thermocouples. - In: From measurement to innovation, (1994), S. 1396-1401

We consider the approximation of the characteristics of thermocouples by polynomials of given degree on the largest possible range such that an apriori given error for the temperature is not violated. The used mathematical methods belongs to the field of semi-infinite optimization and the approach can be interpreted as a kind of reverse Chebyshev approximation (see also Preprint M08/94 from 22-6-94 of the Institute of Mathematics of TU Ilmenau).
