In the federal program, which was launched in 2011, students whose careers indicate outstanding performance in their studies and careers are supported for one year with a Germany Scholarship of 300 euros per month. Half of the funding comes from voluntary sponsors, the other half from the federal government.

The scholarships for the academic year 23/24 will be presented to the scholarship holders by the sponsors - companies, foundations, associations and private individuals - at the TU Ilmenau on November 23.

A total of 45 committed and talented students at TU Ilmenau will be supported with a Deutschlandstipendium, which is donated by 20 sponsors.

Registration for the event is already possible from 15:00, a group photo is planned at 15:30. The award ceremony will be followed by a get-together. The event will be accompanied by music from pianist Ramon Heil-Sauerbrey.

As part of the event, two students from TU Ilmenau will also be honoured for their outstanding academic achievements and their special social or intercultural commitment.

The award for Intercultural Commitment of the City of Ilmenau and TU Ilmenau 2023, which is endowed with 500 euros, honours students who have made a special contribution to the integration and support of international students and the connection between students and citizens of the city of Ilmenau. This year, the award will be presented by Maria Franczyk, Integration Officer of the City of Ilmenau.

With the DAAD Award, which is endowed with 1000 euros, the university honours international students who are completing their studies in Germany and who distinguish themselves through outstanding academic achievements and are also involved in socio-political, social or cultural activities for their fellow citizens. The award is sponsored by the German Academic Exchange Service. The award is presented by Prof Müller Jens Müller, Vice President for International Relations and Transfer.
