Jupyter in higher education teaching: Virtual programming environment WebIDE

It is time again for our next exchange on the topic "Jupyter in Higher Education - Virtual Programming Environment WebIDE".

Date: 14. November 2023, 3 pm - 4:30 pm

Location: Zusebau, Room 4005

In this event we will deal with the development environment WebIDE. Especially in data-intensive subjects, we see manifold differences in students' prior knowledge, complemented by different experiences in dealing with operating systems, hardware and setting up integrated development environments (IDEs).

Our well-versed colleague Friedrich Altheide from the Telematics / Computer Networks department will provide us with the following topics in this context:

• A brief overview of various web-based development environments.
• The advantages of the self-developed WebIDE for teaching and its range of functions
• Joint live demonstration - debugging the first Java programme in only 5 minutes (bring your laptop!)

This event is aimed at teaching staff, project staff and all interested university members . We welcome everyone!

Our mission is to lower the barriers to learning programming and to take an application-oriented approach. In this way, we would like to increase students' learning success and enable practical teaching.
