„Campus Impfen“: Vaccination campaign for students in Ilmenau

On Wednesday, 8 December 2021, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., students and employees will have another opportunity to get vaccinated against Corona in the Meitnerbau at TU Ilmenau. Booster vaccinations are also possible.

It is no longer possible to book an appointment, but those who decide at short notice can also come to the vaccination centre during this period without registering. In this case, please bring enough time with you. We offer either the vaccine from BioNTech (double vaccination) or Johnson & Johnson (single vaccination). The following documents - if available - should be brought to the appointment: Health card, immunization record, enrollment certificate, educational questionnaire, completed medical history+/ consent form.

According to the STIKO, booster vaccinations are recommended to all vaccinated persons over 18 years of age at intervals of 6 months after the 2nd vaccination. In Thuringia, vaccination is already given after 5 months. Regardless of which vaccine was used for the basic immunisation, an mRNA vaccine should be used for the booster. Vaccination will take place on 8.12.21 with BioNTech. Further information can be found here www.bundesregierung.de/breg-de/themen/coronavirus/coronavirus-auffrischungsimpfung-faq-1970900.

What applies if vaccination has been carried out with vaccines not licensed in the EU?
If you have already been vaccinated in your home country and it is unclear whether you can be vaccinated or not, a vaccination consultation is recommended. The doctor will then clarify on site whether vaccination is possible.

The RKI states the following about vaccination with vaccines not licensed in the EU (as of 24.09.2021):

  • Persons who have already been vaccinated abroad with COVID-19 vaccines not licensed in the EU require a renewed vaccination series in order to obtain the status of vaccinated persons in the EU, according to the current legal situation and taking into account the age-appropriate vaccination recommendations. For this classification, persons (currently) need a complete vaccination series with a vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA). A current list of EU-approved COVID-19 vaccines as well as information on the required number of vaccine doses can be found on the PEI website.

Further information on the COVID-19 vaccination can be found here www.rki.de/SharedDocs/FAQ/COVID-Impfen/gesamt.html.

Additional questions about vaccination can be answered by Campus Family Health Management (campusfamilie@tu-ilmenau.de).

"We strongly recommend that all students and staff members make use of the vaccination offers to protect themselves and others and thus make a semester in attendance as well as a largely normal campus life possible," says TU Ilmenau President Prof. Kai-Uwe Sattler.
