DAAD approves third cooperation project with Turkish-German University

Campus of the Turkish-German University in Istanbul

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has approved an application by Prof. Martin Löffelholz for funding of around 200,000 euros to intensify cooperation with the Turkish-German University (TDU).

With the approval, the DAAD supports the Institute for Media and Communication Science of the TU Ilmenau for another three years in the development of a double degree program with the Master's program International Communication and Media Research (ICMR) of the TDU.

Provided that the committees of TU Ilmenau and TDU agree, students of the communication science master's programs of both universities will be able to obtain a German and Turkish university degree in parallel from the winter semester 2024 onwards without extending the study period.

In the two previous projects, which were also funded by the BMBF and DAAD respectively, the Institute of Media and Communication Studies at TU Ilmenau already worked intensively with TDU to establish an innovative master's program in communication studies at Istanbul University.
