DFG project APOM launched

The DFG-funded APOM project was launched at the beginning of this year. Under the leadership of Prof. Domahidi and Prof. Engelmann (University of Jena), the factors influencing the construction of populism in alternative political online media (APOM) will be investigated over a funding period of three years. In addition to Prof. Domahidi, Anke Stoll from the CCS department will also be involved in the project.

As part of the project, the content and conditions of emergence of APOM will be analyzed using a comparative analysis approach as well as manual and computer-aided methods. The aim of the project is to explore the potential impact of APOM in Germany, which could have a significant influence on democratic discourse due to its growing reach.
