Media Studies group at the DGPuK 2024

Martin Löffelholz, Kathrin Schleicher und Johanna Radechovsky

The Media Studies Group was successfully represented with an academic presentation and a panel at the annual conference of the German Society for Journalism and Communication Studies (DGPuK) 2024 at the University of Erfurt.

In the panel "Global Health: Communication in Pandemics", Prof. Martin Löffelholz and research assistants Kathrin Schleicher and Johanna Radechovsky presented key findings from a representative survey of German local authorities on official crisis communication during the Covid-19 pandemic. The results come from surveys conducted by the group as part of the BMBF-funded MIRKKOMM project network.

Under the motto "The future of cross-border journalism research", Prof. Löffelholz moderated a panel discussion at the book reception for the recently published handbook "The Palgrave Handbook of Cross-Border Journalism". In addition to the co-editors Prof. Liane Rothenberger and Prof. David Weaver, the authors of the handbook were also present. Trends and the future of cross-border journalism practice and research were discussed.

Irina Tribusean, research associate in the group, was bid farewell during the event.
