Five IfMK academics publish in the new "Palgrave Handbook of Cross-border Journalism"

Prof. Martin Löffelholz co-edited the volume together with Prof. David Weaver (Indiana University) and Prof. Liane Rothenberger (Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt).

Important chapters have been contributed by Dr. Pauline Gidget Estella ("Cross-border Journalism and De-Westernization"), Mira Rochyadi-Reetz ("Climate Reporting: Crossing the Borders Toward a Global Outlook"), Irina Tribusean ("Virtual Reality in Cross-Border Journalism") and Dr. Yi Xu ("Cross-Border Journalism and Public Diplomacy").

Overall, the handbook analyzes the increased relevance of cross-border news production and the emergence of "transnational journalism cultures" in the age of the Internet. It explains the structures and routines of cross-border journalism, changes in production processes and journalistic roles as well as cross-border journalism in different regions of the world and the consequences of automation, algorithmization, virtual reality and AI.
