A team of inventors from the BMTI, consisting of Benjamin Solf, Stefan Schramm, Dietmar Link and Sascha Klee, was awarded a bronze medal for a patent application in the field of neuroscience, especially in the field of visual perception.
The patent "Method and device for objective electrophysiological determination of the perceived scattered light of the human eye", granted on 14 February 2022, addresses the problem of individually perceived scattered light during vision by means of an objective measurement method through the recording of brain currents. The core of the patent is a methodical procedure for the personalised calibration of algorithms for perceptual detection (see picture, above).
The patent was presented by the Thuringian Patent Centre (PATON) at this year's international inventors' trade fair iENA in Nuremberg, where it was evaluated by a jury of experts and awarded a bronze medal.
The official award ceremony for all of Thuringia took place on 29.11.2022 in the Senate Hall of the TU Ilmenau. The picture below shows co-inventors Dietmar Link (left) and Sascha Klee (right).
