Also on Thursday, March 14, 2024, a virtual event of the MINT-EC Future Forum will take place for young people from 2 pm. With offers such as the MINT-EC Camp, the national excellence network supports pupils with an interest in mathematics, science and technology. They can use the Spatial Chat platform to network with universities, listen to lectures on all aspects of studying and follow alumni talks.
TU Ilmenau offers a space on Spatial-Chat for general information on degree courses and campus life in Ilmenau. Students can ask questions interactively via video call or chat.
There is also a lecture program:
At two hands-on workshops at TU Ilmenau, students are given perspectives for the time after graduation. They not only deepen their existing knowledge, but also gain their first practical experience. Schools can apply for time off for this. At the "Media production up close" event, participants take a look behind the scenes and at the processes of a television studio production. In the fully equipped media lab, they actively create their own talk show in small teams. This includes the thematic development of the show in the editorial team, learning and practicing the operation of cameras, video mixers, sound, lighting and recording equipment, through to the actual production and recording of the show.
In the "Recyclable and bio-based plastics" workshop, the young people researchsustainable andinnovative materials that should be recyclable. For plastics in particular, the focus is on aspects such as the circular economy and bio-based polymers. Participants learn more about the production, processing and recycling of plastics. By means of practical experiments and discussions with employees from the
Plastics Technology department, they will gain first-hand insights into the opportunities and challenges of using recycled and bio-based plastics.
Registration for one or both days is still possible until March 10, 2024. Information on the MINT-EC Future Forum and registration: https://www.tu-ilmenau.de/veranstaltungen/mint-ec-zukunftsforum
