The aim of the project is to procure and install a CAVE (Cave Automatic Virtual Environment) in the new building housing the University Computing Centre (Grace-Hopper-Bau) at the Technische Universität Ilmenau. This CAVE will enable the 15 groups of the I3TC (Ilmenau Interactive Immersive Technologies Centre), a technology centre founded at the TU Ilmenau in May 2022 ( www.tu-ilmenau.de/i3tc) to conduct research into topics such as telepresence, the simulation of real-world situations, AR-in-VR simulations, sensorimotor integration, holistic quality of experience and spatial audio.
