Sexual Pleasure in Media and Beyond

The International Journal of Sexual Health (IJSH) is a peer-reviewed academic journal and the organ of the World Association for Sexual Health (WAS); with an Impact Factor of 2.1. Sexual Health, as a component of overall health, is defined as comprehensive sexual well-being encompassing physical, mental, and social aspects. Sexual pleasure is a central component of sexual health. In line with the WAS Declaration on Sexual Pleasure, the IJSH will publish a special issue on the topic of sexual pleasure. Prof. Döring from the Media Psychology and Media Design Group of TU Ilmenau serves as lead guest editor of this special issue, which addresses sexual pleasure in media contexts and beyond. Submission deadline: 15 July 2026.
