Best Student Paper Award at ITSC 2020

As part of the ROADWORKS project, a paper was published and presented at the IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems in September 2020, where it received a Best Student Paper award.

In the ROADWORKS project, new methods and technologies are to be researched that make the inventory and presentation of object and operational data in road operation services better and more efficient.

The presented paper with the title "Neural Network-Based Traffic Sign Recognition in 360° Images for Semi-Automatic Road Maintenance Inventory" by Christoph Gerhardt and Wolfgang Broll, describes how artificial neural networks can be used to automatically examine 360° images captured during driving, detect relevant objects and link them to a corresponding database.
