Quantum cryotron: research into fabrication technology

The project funded by the Free State of Thuringia, FKZ. 2024 VDY 0054, was co-financed by the European Union within the framework of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

 

Modern industrial development and production processes require increasingly precise measurement technologies, which can be significantly improved through the use of quantum effects. In this project, superconducting quantum cryotrons (QK) will, therefore, be researched by the partners supracon AG, CiS, and TU Ilmenau. This will lead to the establishment of a complete base technology for the design and construction of complex circuits and quantum detectors for various areas of application. TU Ilmenau will research and optimize new process technologies for QK fabrication.
