Diversity-inclusive and gender-sensitive web usability
Good usability is a key success factor for websites, as it determines whether content can be used equally by all target groups. In this context, taking into account the diversity of target groups in terms of gender, age, and culture plays an important role in the design of information and interaction. In the German-speaking context the focus has so far been primarily on the use of gender-sensitive language.
Using the methods of systematic literature review and best practice analysis, the project analyzes the state-of-the-art in diversity-inclusive usability of information and interaction on websites. The resulting recommendations for action are intended to expand existing guidelines - particularly with regard to the inclusion of women from diverse cultural backgrounds - and to improve usability for all target groups. The goal of the project is to develop recommendations for action regarding diversity-sensitive usability of websites.
