The aim of the THInKI certificate program is to provide participants with complementary skills in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This program is designed to provide a well-founded supplement to existing qualifications and knowledge from university education and to prepare students for the application of AI methods and techniques. It serves as a practice-oriented additional qualification. Participants acquire basic knowledge of the systematics, terminology and fundamental content of AI as well as the practical skills required to work maturely in the field of AI. The program focuses on the areas of data processing, modeling and training of AI systems as well as the application and reflection of AI techniques. Upon successful completion of the certificate program, participants will have the necessary skills to apply AI methods and techniques in their professional environment. They will be able to independently access, structure and acquire specific information in the field of AI, critically classify the acquired knowledge and apply the acquired knowledge and skills in a flexible and targeted manner. The certificate supports the development of methodological and social skills that enable participants to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams and apply their AI skills in different professional contexts.

The certificate comprises several modules with a total of around 15 credit points. Up to 10 credit points from your own degree program can be included.

The certificate is divided into three modules:

Foundation module: This is a basic module, the content of which can be selected from a range of courses. It provides a sound introduction to the subject area and lays the foundations for the other modules. Two domain modules: These modules offer an in-depth examination of subject-specific topics. Here too, it is possible to choose from the modules on offer in order to focus on your own areas of interest.

Two specialization modules must be selected from these courses.

Upon application, other modules from the degree program can also be included as domain-specific specialization modules.

If you are interested in acquiring the certificate for AI, please send an email with the subject"Registration for university certificate for AI" to KI-Zertifikat@tu-ilmenau.de. Please include the following information:

• Last name, first name
• Selected modules (Note: If you would like to select a module that differs from the list above, please also indicate the lecturer as the contact person for the examination board. The examination board will then decide whether the selection is permissible).
• University (FSU Jena / TU Ilmenau / ...)
• Current status (Bachelor student / Master student / PhD student / Postdoc / ...)

Degree

After successful registration, you can take your selected modules and complete them by passing the exams. Please report the successful completion of all modules again to the email address provided in order to receive your certificate.
