The course External Accounting deals with the basics of double-entry bookkeeping and annual financial statements according to HGB and IFRS. The analysis of annual financial statements takes up a large part of the course.
Long description
The course External Accounting teaches the basics of external accounting and techniques of double-entry bookkeeping. The focus is on the German HGB financial statements with information on the asset and income situation. The calculation of acquisition and production costs, depreciation, the periodization of payments and the equity capital are considered as balance figures. The course also provides an overview of the principles of accounting according to the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The analysis of annual financial statements is a major part of the course.

The course Strategic Controlling deals with the planning and control of strategies. In addition to fundamental instruments of strategic controlling, aspects of cost, time and quality competition and suitable control instruments are considered as well as methods of corporate and environment analysis, portfolio analysis and strategic early warning. A further focus is on controlling the implementation of strategies with the help of performance measurement systems, with special emphasis on the balanced scorecard.
