Requirements

Participants

  • Students enrolled in a full course of study at one of the Thuringian universities (from the first semester)
  • Graduates in the first 12 months after graduation (application must be made while still studying!)
  • Doctoral students enrolled at one of the Thuringian universities

Duration of funding

  • Long Term:
    2 to 12 months per study cycle (Bachelor, Master, Doctoral)
    2 to 24 months for single-track programs (e.g. Diploma)
  • Short Term:
    Blended Mobility up to 1 month traineeship in presence and additional virtual phase (in Germany).
    PhD mobility up to 1 month for immatriculated doctoral students

Traineeships

  • Eligible: in enterprises, social institutions, NGOs, universities, etc.
  • Not eligible: in EU institutionsand other EU bodies, including specialised agencies; in bodiesmanaging EU programmes.

Zero Grant rule: Financial support is granted for up to a total of 5 months. Periods beyond this will not be financially supported (= Zero Grant).

Traineeships during studies: Students can be funded for up to 12 months. The maximum duration refers to the study cycle, not to the field of study.

Traineeships after studies: Graduates can be funded up to a total duration of 12 months. The duration of the graduate traineeships will be counted within the Erasmus+ contingent of the previous study cycle.

Traineeships during studies: Students can be funded for up to 12 months!

Traineeships after graduation: Graduates are supported up to a total duration of 6 months. You are also welcome to go abroad for longer. However, you will not receive any funding for this period (Zero Grant).

Special grants

  • Support for parents with child(ren): Students or graduates who start their Erasmus+ placement with one or more children will receive an additional DAAD grant.
  • Special support for persons with special needs or chronic diseases: Students or graduates with a degree of disability can receive additional funds to their Erasmus+ grant DAAD.  This also applies to students with a chronic illness that results in additional costs abroad.
