Entrepreneurial Skills: Certificate courses of the Ilmkubator Start-up Service in winter semester 23/24

Develop leadership and problem-solving skills while gaining knowledge and experience on the subject of founding? All of this is possible at TU Ilmenau - in parallel to your current studies, doctorate and work in research, teaching and administration. This is made possible by the "Entrepreneurial Skills" certificate of the Ilmkubator start-up service and the ZIB. For already one year, the certificate can be completed by employees, doctoral candidates and students of the TU Ilmenau.

In the winter semester 23/24, a wide range of courses are again on the program: Many topics are covered, from further education in various areas relevant to founding, the development of soft skills and also networking with other founders and those interested in founding. In addition to the Ilmkubator coaches, numerous external speakers and experts will also be visiting.

Interested parties can inform themselves about the certificate, the course offerings and formalities for registration and creditability in a consultation session before the start of the course.

Strengthening entrepreneurial thinking and acting at the TU Ilmenau

It is important to the TU Ilmenau to impart competencies relevant to the future and to promote the education of young people who think and act entrepreneurially. Therefore, the TU Ilmenau is also one of the signatories of the Entrepreneurial Skills Charter, which was developed by university representatives within the framework of the support network "Entrepreneurial Skills" and published in 2022.

The certificate of the Ilmkubator offers interested students, doctoral candidates and employees of the university the opportunity to specifically deal with entrepreneurial thinking and acting and the related "Entrepreneurial Skills". These include a range of future-oriented competencies that are important not only for founders, but also for employees in all sectors, young academics and researchers. These include:

"the ability to perceive opportunities, creativity, visionary thinking, sustainability skills, the ability to mobilize resources, to motivate oneself and others, economic skills ... leadership, judgment, problem-solving and reflective skills, but also the willingness to take risks, seek collaborations and work in interdisciplinary teams," according to the Entrepreneurial Skills Charter.

In order to implement this goal, various offers were created within the framework of the Studium generale as well as by the start-up service Ilmkubator, which complement the offers of the faculties. These are bundled within the "Entrepreneurial Skills" certificate.
