Dynamic coherence and phase analysis in neurolinguistics

The analysis of the human speech processing is a big challenge for the neuroscience because of the complexity of the underlying neuronal processes. Over the past years the enormous gain of knowledge was achieved from the EEG in particular through the methods of event-related potentials (ERP). Because of the temporal characteristics and the parallelism of neuronal processes the wish resulted to apply temporal and spectral high resolution methods of signal processing to the investigation of speech to analyse interconnection processes in selected frequency ranges. Via the dynamic coherence and phase approximation it is possible to describe interconnection between different brain areas and the direction of the information processing.
