MedWaveImage – Microwave imaging technology transfer to innovate the medical sector

The project focuses on the potentials of microwave imaging, which can be used to develop portable and cost-effective medical devices. The newly developed devices will be tested in hospitals with specific medical expertise. In the MedWaveImage project, we will bring together complementary expertise and resources from biomedical engineering, signal processing, clinical expertise, sensor development, mechanical design and deep learning algorithms from three academic, three medical and two industrial partners from three EU countries.

Main medical objectives are – breast cancer screening, hyperthermia monitoring for neck cancer and brain stroke imaging.

This research project is supported by theInterreg CENTRAL EUROPE Programme with co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund. This international research project with a project volume 1.961.000 Euro runs until the end of 2026.
