HOROS - HOme RObot System

The topic of this project is the development of a mobile Information-Interaction-System, a Pioneer-based platform, which has to operate in an office interacting mainly with students. To do this, the system has to know its environment, the office, and has to localize itself in it. It also has to detect possible users, entering the office, by using its camera.

Once the robot detects an user, it has to turn to this possible user and start a vision- and speech-based user-adaptive interaction. To do this, the robot has to analyze its user, the gender, the age, the face expression, the pose and distance to the Information System. User-based interaction means then, that the robot has to adjust its dialog strategies and presentation modes to adapt to the user.
