About the person

Univ.-Prof. Dr. habil. Norbert Bach has been appointed full professor and Head of the Research Group Management & Organization at TU Ilmenau in April 2008. Since October 2016 he in addition holds the office of the Director of the Institute of Business Administration. Since 2019, he has headed the study program committees for Industrial Engineering (BA/M.Sc.) and Business Administration with Technical Orientation (TBWL).

From July 2012 to December 2013, Prof. Bach was Dean of Teaching and Learning of the then Department of Business and Economics (WW). During this time, in addition to his duties as Dean of Teaching & Learning and QM Officer, he was instrumental in promoting the merger with the Institute for Media and Communication Sciences (IfMK) and the founding of the Department of Economics and Media (WM). Subsequently, in 2014 and 2015, he shaped the post-merger integration of the two units as Founding Dean of the new Department WM. During his deanship, he was a member of the Senate and the Administrative Board of TU Ilmenau, which he chaired for one year.

From 2008 until its closure at the end of 2017, Prof. Bach was Adjunct Professor at the Graduate School of Business at Curtin University of Technology in Perth, Western Australia. Since 2018, he has been cooperating with the School of Business & Law at Edith Cowan University.

In addition to his work at TU Ilmenau, Prof. Bach is a founding partner and managing director of the management consultancy excellence-in-change GmbH & Co. KG (Gießen and Münster).
