The Association for the Promotion of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology Ilmenau awards the FEI Prize once a year. With this prize, outstanding final theses in the Bachelor's and Master's degree courses or the diploma course of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology are recognised and honoured by the Förderverein.
Innovative topics are to be highlighted and outstanding students honoured for their scientific achievements. The award is endowed with a cash prize and will be presented with a certificate at the end of the summer semester at the end of the lecture period. The board of the Förderverein Elektrotechnik und Informationstechnik Ilmenau e.V. decides on the awarding of the prizes.
The heads of department of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology are entitled to make proposals. For an application the following documents must be submitted:
- a short laudation for the prize-worthiness,
- proof of the final grade of the thesis,
- the work itself and
- at least one expert opinion on the work.
