User-centred interaction design patterns for interactive digital television applications, 2007. - 315 S. Ilmenau : Techn. Univ., Diss., 2007

Effective production of television content for mobile devices. - In: 2006 IEEE Tenth International Symposium on Consumer Electronics, 2006, ISCE '06, ISBN 978-1-4244-0216-8, (2006), insges. 5 S.
Over the last years the usage of portable devices like mobile phones and personal digital assistants (PDAs) reached a huge spread in industrial countries. Increasingly these devices are able to display moving images. First developed for play back of stored files (e.g. MPEG4) more and more devices can handle audiovisual streams which are broadcasted via certain distribution channels like DVB-H, DMB or DXB. For enclosing spread of this mobile information reception it now is indispensable to provide content for mobile devices. - Television (TV) production industry is situated in a convergence ambition of traditional broadcast technology and information technology (IT). Purpose-built and therefore expensive equipment for professional production of TV content get replaced by adapted standard IT hardware (computers, storages, networks). This changeover allows the complete inclusion of so called meta data into the production work flow. This means that not only audiovisual information (content) runs throughъ the process of production but so is information about the content which can be utilized in a majority of ways. - The article presents a way of simultaneous production of TV content for standard TV sets and for mobile devices. This proposal is based on meta data handling in TV production. For this purpose special demands of mobile devices as TV receivers are revealed and an approach for an automated system is presented. In doing so suggestions are made how necessary meta data is extracted and handled.
