As part of my bachelor’s thesis, I am working on the synthesis and characterization of novel Grubbs catalysts based on asymmetric carben ligands. The goal of this work is to investigate the influence of structural modifications on the conversion in cross-metathesis reactions. The catalysts developed in this way are used within the Ilmenau School of Green Electronics for the production of self-healing polymers.

In my bachelor thesis, I am working on the synthesis of and various kinetic investigations into oxymethylene ethers. These are to be analyzed in high-field flow NMR and can later be used as additives or even complete substitutes for diesel fuels. The aim is to expand the possibilities of kinetic analyses.

My research is about the recycling of fiber composites. To achieve this, I am developing a photolabile linker. This is a special molecule that breaks the covalent bonds between the fibers and the polymer matrix when irradiated, thus improving recyclability.

I am working on the carbonylchlorobis(trimethylphosphine)rhodium catalyst, which establishes a reaction equilibrium between hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide on the one hand and aldehydes on the other through a photochemical reaction. I am investigating the equilibrium and rate constants of various aldehyde reactants and reaction parameters using NMR spectroscopy.

In my bachelor thesis I am working on rhodium phosphane catalysts. Among other things, these can be used to carry out CH activation with linear hydrocarbons. As a model reaction, I am investigating the photochemical carbonylation of alkanes.

Phosphane ligands play a critical role in catalysis. As part of my Bachelor's thesis, I am researching the synthesis of novel phosphanes related to Buchwald ligands and the synthesis of asymmetric phosphanes. These will then be examined for their catalytic properties.

C-H activations can be carried out by the reaction using precatalysts and various P(III) components. In this project, new rhodium-phosphine complexes will be synthesized using mainly Buchwald phosphines. The structure of each compound will be investigated using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR).
