About the Association

The purpose of the association is the non-profit promotion of teaching, training and further education as well as science, research and development in the field of plastics technology within the framework of the activities of the Plastics Technology Group at the Technische Universität Ilmenau (KTI). The association supports KTI in the performance of its tasks beyond the possibilities existing within the university framework, in order to do justice to the special importance of plastics technology. In conjunction with KTI, it sees itself as a core competence provider for material, process, machine and application technology in the use of plastics in a wide range of application fields. It offers member companies a platform to formulate their interests vis-à-vis the field of plastics technology and to work out approaches for joint development projects and bring about their implementation.

Membership and way of working

 

A full member of the association can become a member after a positive supported application any legal entity and association of persons and any natural person, who has reached the age of 18. The Members endeavour to promote the purposes of the association and under avoidance of conflicts of interest in the to bring in association life. The association finances its activities from contributions and endowment funds of its members and may receive donations from non-members which are intended solely for the purpose of meeting the purposes of the association may be used. The association is non-profit-making and is used for the exhibition of confirmations of donations justified (status 2014). Funds of the association are only used for statutory purposes and purposes and tasks. Organs of the association are the general meeting and the executive committee. The Association leads content-related events to current topics and informs its members about the research and development activities of the KTI

   

Goals

The Development Association supports the KTI in the perception of its tasks over the existing tasks within the framework of the university possibilities, in this way to meet the special requirements of the importance of plastics technology. It sees itself in conjunction with the KTI as a core competence provider for the topics of the material, process and machine and application technology in use of plastics in various fields of application. It offers member companies a platform to present their interests in the field of plastics technology and to formulate approaches for joint to work out development projects and to support the implementation to cause the same

Scientific education and training

The association primarily offers students, doctoral candidates and scientific staff of KTI the possibility of continuing their scientific education and training through collaboration in research projects of the association on supplement. At the same time, the practical relevance of teaching through the cooperation with members of the association intensified. The transfer of personnel between universities and companies should be strengthened if the latter, for example qualified graduates or student employees want to hire for internships or participate in the implementation of interested in student work. Interests of the association members for structured further education of their employees in cooperation with KTI, employees can flow into it.
