µNOX - Portable measuring device for mobile measurement of nitrogen oxides

The project is based on the findings of the NSENS project and continues its work. For this purpose, two components are to be realized in the LTCC technology, a converter chamber for the generation of nitric oxide (NO) and a reaction chamber for the detection of the NO concentration. For the chambers, cavities are realized in the LTCC substrate, which are hermetically sealed. In the converter, NO is generated in the sample gas by an external UV light source. This NO reacts with ozone (O3) in the reaction chamber and emits infrared light. The light is measured with a detector and the amount of nitrogen oxide in the sample gas is determined.

Both components are to be produced in one substrate without influencing each other in their mode of action. Furthermore, a miniaturisation of the LTCC substrate compared to the NSENS project is aimed at, as a mobile portable measuring system is to be produced in cooperation with the project partners.
