Escape Game

Escape Game in the University Library
The University Library is presenting its learning space and services in a different way. Our Escape Game is designed to teach the basics of the library in a playful way. Participants solve puzzles in the game and help a professor retrieve his important technical drawings.

What is it about?
"A professor is working in the university library to decipher a technical drawing that seems to come from the future. Could it be a time machine? Suddenly, the professor leaves his workplace and the university library, leaving everything open. What now? It doesn't bear thinking about if the drawing fell into the wrong hands! Fortunately, someone took the valuable document to a safe place. There are several puzzles to solve in order to get hold of the drawing and thus the key to time travel."

How can you play?
The Escape Game can be borrowed free of charge from the Library of things. It can be reserved on request at the service desk or by emailing auskunft.ub@tu-ilmenau.de. The game is free for all library users.

Before starting the game, show the Thoska card of the person who made the reservation for the group at the service desk. Players will then receive the EscapeBox with the starting materials. Please return the box and all materials to the service desk at the end of the game.

The game:

• is suitable for 2-6 people (multiple players can be divided into groups and play at the same time).
• is available in 2 german and 2 english versions.
• lasts approx. 60 minutes.
• does not require any prior knowledge of the University Library, all you need is a smartphone with access to the WLAN (eduroam).

If players get stuck on a point or have questions, there are hints available at the service desk.
