The University Library offers a total of nine group study rooms and seven study cubicles (individual study spaces), available on a daily or weekly basis.
You can only use the rooms if you have made a booking via the room booking system.

You can collect the key from the UB-Service-Desk upon presentation of your library card. By doing so, you agree to the terms and conditions set out in the library’s rules and regulations and in this information sheet.
In the event of high demand, members of the university (students and staff) will be given priority over other library visitors.
These rooms are intended for library users who wish to meet in small groups of between 3 and a maximum of 12 people to study or work on projects together. However, they are not suitable for use as seminar or conference rooms. Furthermore, they are not intended as individual study spaces.
As in the rest of the library, eating is not permitted in the group study rooms. The Group Study Room+ and Group Study Room+2 are exceptions: in addition to drinks, you may also consume snacks in these two rooms.
The group study rooms can be booked for a whole day or just by the hour.
Please note that if you are more than 30 minutes late, your booking will be automatically cancelled and the room will be made available to other interested parties.
The group study rooms are equipped differently. Power sockets are available in all group study rooms for your own digital devices.
If required, a projector, whiteboard markers, HDMI, VGA and network cables, keyboards and various adapters can be borrowed for daily use (Library of Things) from the UB-Service-Desk.
The Group Workroom+ (GARplus) and Group Workroom+2 (GARplus2) on the ground floor are equipped as follows:
The Group Workroom+2 (GARplus2) also contains a sewing machine (W6 N 3300 exclusive) and the Kidsbox. The sewing machine can be used without a machine licence.

The carrels are ideal if you wish to work in the library on your own and are looking for a quiet place to work. All carrels are equipped with power sockets for your own digital devices.

There are five weekly carrels on the ground floor and intermediate storey level, providing undisturbed, long-term workspaces. These carrels are particularly suitable if you wish to work in the library for an extended period. The booking period is a minimum of one week and a maximum of six weeks. You can find the booking schedules for the weekly carrels in the room booking system.
Please note regarding weekly carrels: The key to the weekly carrel must be collected and the carrel occupied within three days of the start of the booking period. If this does not happen, the booking will be automatically cancelled after 3 days and the weekly carrel will be made available again for other interested parties.
