Thuringian Innovation Centre of Quantum Optics and Sensors

The conceptual goal of InQuoSens is to strengthen the innovative power of the Thuringian economy.

InQuoSens combines the excellent and internationally visible research activities of the locations Ilmenau (IMN MacroNano) and Jena (Abbe Center of Photonics) in the key technologies quantum optics and sensor technology. It develops these technologies synergetically through strategic investment measures and a joint strategy process. InQuoSens coordinates its scientific development with the innovation needs of the Thuringian manufacturing industry. These activities create an internationally unique centre of scientific excellence with a critical mass of expertise that enhances the innovative power of Thuringia's economy.

In addition to excellent research, the qualification of top executives for science and industry is part of InQuoSens' mission to ensure the innovative ability of Thuringian industry in the long term.

At the Innovation Centre of Quantum Optics and Sensor Technology, 4 research groups have successfully established themselves so far. The task of the research groups is to make innovative know-how available to small and medium-sized Thuringian companies. The research group funding is part of the state's innovation strategy, which aims to provide targeted support for industry-related research areas.
