Test chip with resistive MoS2 gas sensors

The proposed Research Unit 2D-Sens is an interdisciplinary group of scientists working intensively in the fields of nanotechnology and nanoelectronics, material sciences, sensor technology and photonics. Their aim is to investigate novel atomically thin 2D (two-dimensional) materials, to use their special properties for gas detection and thus to develop innovative concepts for gas sensors. The research group is embedded in the Thuringian Innovation Center for Quantum Optics and Sensor Technology InQuoSens and includes researchers from the Technical University of Ilmenau and the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena. It uses the infrastructures of both universities synergistically and benefits from the excellence in the above-mentioned fields established in Ilmenau and Jena.
