Description

This master program is designed consecutive and based on the Mechanical Engineering bachelor program. It can also be taken from graduates of similar bachelor programs such as Electrical Engineering, Computer and Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, Optronics, Microsystems Engineering or graduates from other technical bachelor programs like Engineering, Science or Computer Science with 210 credit points (CP).

The master program Mechanical Engineering is based on a broad subject-specific training in natural science and engineering science  and extends it by a specific profile of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. This profile is oriented in teaching and research in the areas of precision engineering, mechatronics, optics and light technology, measurement, sensor and drive technology, micro- and precision machining, microsystem technology, nanotechnology, engineering design and the development of CAD solutions for the construction and production of stationary and mobile systems, factory operation, man-machine interaction, ergonomics, environmentally appropriate manufacturing and materials engineering and thermodynamics.

Based on a broad fundamental education in engineering science follows the specialisation on such components and systems in Mechanical Engineering in which the abovementioned specifics and information technology are essential components. Research with focus on the use and development of state-of-the-art technology, combined with a theoretical and practical oriented mechanical engineering education, describes the special profile.
