Launch of the NeMoRehab project

NeMoRehab – Multimodal closed-loop biofeedback system for neuromotor rehabilitation

Technologies for sensors, sensor applicators and data processing methods for multimodal biofeedback applications (subproject)

Project description:

Patients with incomplete paraplegia suffer from limited mobility, but also from tedious and slow therapy progress. The NeMoRehab collaborative project is investigating a novel biofeedback system for (1) monitoring and (2) adapting therapy. Personalised therapy will enable patients to recover more quickly and reduce residual disability.

In the subproject "Technologies for sensors, sensor applicators and data processing methods for multimodal biofeedback applications", selected hardware and software components for the overall system will be developed. This includes applicators for positioning the sensors on the patient's body. The focus of the subproject is the processing and analysis of the measured signals in order to minimize sensor failures or malfunctions and to subsequently analyze the brain and muscle activity as a basis of information for adjusting the stimulation parameters.
