Yu, Jingyuan

Dr. Jingyuan Yu received his PhD from the Department of Social Psychology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (February 2021). He obtained his Master's degree in Social Communication at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2017). His research interest focuses on computational methods, political communication and comparative communication studies. Since July 2021, he has been a postdoctoral researcher at TU Ilmenau. He was part of the DFG-funded project ‘Deciphering the pandemic public sphere: Government communication, (social) media discourses on and citizens‘ responses to Covid-19 in Europe and the USA (DECIPHER)’.

Jingyuan Yu’s research focuses on computational methods and comparative communication studies. His research areas include, but not limit to online digital data, media and political system comparisons and misinformation research. His work emphasizes on the implementation and validation of computational methods to ensure the comparability across various comparison units, and subsequently, empirical implications. In addition, Jingyuan Yu is also interested in research topics related to European politics, social psychology, science of science.
